How to read these numbers

HMDA denial rates, origination counts, and loan-type mixes use different denominators. PlainLender publishes vintage-stamped registry totals so readers can cite the extract without treating a lender ranking as a recommendation. State and metro totals sum filings geocoded to that geography; compare institution detail pages for lender-specific portfolios. See methodology for the CFPB aggregation rules PlainLender follows.
